SUBJECT:   CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE A VERIZON CELL TOWER LAND LEASE AGREEMENT WITH GTE MOBILNET OF SOUTH TEXAS LIMITED PARTNERSHIP D/B/A VERIZON WIRELESS

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY


Verizon reached out to the City of Fulshear inquiring about the ability to lease some ground space to provide for construction of a monopole type of cell tower to improve the cellular system coverage in our area.  City staff met with Verizon representatives and have the proposed land lease agreement for consideration.

 

Summary of lease agreement:

1. Site location: Cross Creek Water Plant # 3

2. Lease a portion of the site to install, maintain, replace, add and operate communications equipment

3. 5-year initial term; additional 4, 5-year terms unless 3-month notice to terminate by lessor is given prior to the end of the current term.

4. Yearly lease; with 2 % yearly increase

5. Removal at end of term: within 90 days of expiration,


RECOMMENDATION


City Council authorize the Mayor to execute a Land Lease Agreement with GTE Mobilnet of South Texas Limited Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless.
