In November 2023, City Council approved a Professional Service Agreement with Arudrra Group to begin the design services of Lift Station 11. Since then, the Wastewater Master Plan has been undergoing an update and identified the capacity of Lift Station 11. now named Texana Regional Lift Station, will exceed the existing wet well configuration, resulting in a need for a new wet well with associated pumps, piping, and electrical work to design and construct a 2.4 million-gallons-per day facility.
With this update, and the timeline for these improvements to be made, it is now necessary to provide for a more comprehensive design improvement to this lift station. The scope of work now encompasses the ultimate improvements necessary to meet the capacity needs of the development occurring that will send wastewater flows to this lift station.
Staff reached out to the current design Engineer for the minor lift station improvements, Ardurra, to provide a new scope for the ultimate improvements to the lift station. The scope provided has been reviewed by City staff and will meet the City's expectations for design services.
The scope of work will include:
1. Basic Services
2. Design Criteria Memo
3. Design Services to include:
a. Wet Well expansion
b. 12" Gravity main
c. Process Mechanical plans
d. Electrical plans
e. Pump curves and data for selection of pumps
f. Structural plans for expansion
g. Project Manual and specifications
h. Engineer's estimate of probable construction costs
4. Additional items to include subsurface utility exploitation, geotechnical, surveying and a design change contingency
4. Bid phase services
5. Schedule: 1 year; with an expectation to bid the gravity main while design is continuing to complete the lift station expansion
Legal, Public Works and Finance have reviewed the scope of services, and Professional Service Agreement 2024-068 submitted for consideration.
