SUBJECT:   CONSENT AND APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE NO. 2024-1467 PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEMBERS TO SERVE IN THE ABSENCE OF ONE OR MORE REGULAR MEMBERS

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY


City staff is respectfully requesting that the City Council consider the need for alternate Zoning Board of Adjustment members.  The ability to have alternates on this board will reduce, if not completely remove, the struggle to achieve a quorum.

 

City Staff is proposing the creation of two alternate board members to serve in the absence of one or more regular members.  This Ordinance only authorizes the appointment of the two alternate board members and not the appointment itself.  Upon approval of this Ordinance a resolution will be drafted at a later date to make those appointments.


RECOMMENDATION


It is city staffs recommendation that the City Council approve Ordinance No. 2024-1467.
